How to choose a Personal Trainer or Coach

Knowing what to look for when hiring a Personal Trainer or Coach can be intimidating, confusing and even frustrating!

Many people don't know the difference between a Personal Trainer and a Coach, even more confusing!

You just want to get fit, lose some weight and feel good right?

Having some help to get the results you want, and getting those results safely and for the long term (life even!) should be the goal.

With so many PT's and Coaches claiming to be the best, how do you cut through the noise?

**Iv'e been in your shoes**

The first gym I joined in was in 2001 -  bought a 5 year foundation membership and went ONCE.

Can you relate?

I was intimidated, unmotivated, felt completely lost and "uneducated”, fear that people could tell I didn't know what I was doing, embarrassed even.

The thought of going to “exercise” was not appealing.

Choosing the wrong environment especially for a first timer could mean the end of an extremely valuable path to better health for life.

I hired my first PT in 2004 and not knowing what to look out for was scary.... stumbling across a PT Studio was the best (and worst) thing I could have done.

Many people don't know I have a spinal injury and that was one of the reasons I wanted to join a “gym".  Not knowing what to do and having the fear that i would hurt myself (or look like a fool…. ????) I knew i needed help.

What held me back....

???? Fear of pain

????Fear of a relapse

????Fear of the unknown

????Fear of looking like a fool

????Feeling intimidated

You know it's time when....

????Feeling sluggish and tired all the time

????Gaining weight as I was ageing

????Poor sleep

????Lack of energy

????Unmotivated

That was almost normal for me back then

After months of (OVER) training I had a relapse, that set me back to seeing a Chiro several times a week.

I didn’t know there was such a thing as “overtraining” or ‘“under eating” at that time.

That was when I made the decison to learn everything I could and get qualified as a Personal Trainer, that was back in 2007.
