Building Healthy Habits with a Personal Trainer

You have a career, own a business, travel a lot, and are constantly in situations that make habits very necessary.

Habits are why you brush your teeth. Go to work. Meet friends on the weekends. See? Habits might sound boring but they aren’t really bad!

Maybe you have a habit of a few drinks when you meet those friends. (OK 😉 that one could be modified a bit) Now let’s talk about all those holiday traditions – food, drink, and merry-making – that seem to encourage bad habits.

Being Healthy Doesn’t Mean “No Fun”

If you find yourself consuming sugary drinks and a few cookies, chocolates, donuts or lollies after lunch because somebody brought holiday cheer to the office, that’s probably not a habit, it’s more the result of conditioning.

But falling into traps of over-eating and over-drinking in social and other situations can take a tremendous toll on your body, mind, and spirit. Would you rather have self-control or another cookie? Most people say the self-control. Most people reach for the cookie, anyway.

One value of working with an experienced personal health coach is this: when you understand why you do what you do, it’s easier to get in the habit of doing healthier things. Most of the time 😉

Bad eating habits simply don’t develop overnight. In fact, it usually takes a lifetime. The good news is, humans are great at change! But, few people can make significant, lasting changes on their own. Having an experienced personal coach makes it much, much easier. And, as our clients quickly learn, it’s a lot more fun, too.

Training Time is “ME” Time that Pays You Back

We know how hard it can be to carve out time to exercise. Some of our busiest clients, who may travel for weeks at a time, have said they thought their schedule would make it impossible to have a successful training program. This is another example showing the value of having a personal trainer.

Our experienced personal trainers take the time to understand your goals, eating, sleeping, and other routines, and take into account your daily demands (and habits). With a good understanding of who you are and where you want to go, they work closely with you to develop a training program you can manage around your schedule. From there – armed the results of a personalised body comp analysis – they customize a combination of strength training and conditioning that will help you take control of your health, body, and life.

A Personal Trainer Helps You Modify Unhealthy Habits

Many of our clients come to us after a health scare – often admitting that they’ve tried exercise routines before, but quit after a time. Our trainers don’t judge! They respond with routines that are completely personalised and anything but routine. Boxing? TRX? Push a sled? Flip a tire? Yes you can! And, it’s hard to fool a personal trainer. When your motivation dips, your coach is on to you (in the nicest way) and when your numbers start to improve, you’ll be cheered and celebrated – and challenged, just a little bit more, to reach your goals.

See what Valerie achieved.

Some of our coaches have extensive experience in helping clients build strength after injuries and in helping them achieve weight loss to improve their overall health. All of our coaches are dedicated to making sure our clients look forward to their training time and actually enjoy the work they do to reach their goals.

Training sessions are about more than lifting, squatting, and sweating. Whether private or semi-private, working with a trainer is a highly personalised, educational, motivational experience. Many of our clients describe it as “life changing.” How does that sound?
